Central Indiana Birding Sites

The Central part of the state offers a great diversity of birding sites, with Indianapolis serving as a central hub for both resident and visiting birders.  The area includes the first of Indiana’s State Parks, large man-made reservoirs, as well as the Indiana Audubon’s flagship property, Mary Gray Bird Sanctuary.  Due to the proximity to Indy, many of these sites are heavily birded, and eBird hotspots often contain a good set of data for birders seeking out specific central Indiana species.
